This looks like becoming a regular feature: This headline and the short summary, repeated in the FT on Saturday, caught my eye. According to Friends of the Earth:
"The UK already languishes at the bottom of the EU renewable energy league table, with only Malta producing less renewable energy as a percentage of total energy consumption..."
They give Eurostat as the source for this claim, but no link or further details. As far as I can tell, this seems to come from Eurostat's dataset for "Share of electricity from renewable energy to gross electricity consumption". However, the data table, seems to show that for the last historic figures available, from 2004, seems to contradict this, showing that the UK had a higher share of renewables than Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta and Poland, a total of nine other members of the EU25. Shurely some mishtake?!?!?
